We are the future and it is up to us to decide where to take the future. In the link I’ve attached, it discusses what text is, what digital text is, what links are and how we’ve evolved through the Internet over time. It discusses the role we play in the future of social media and digital media in general. We are the future and we’re constantly changing the way that the web and the world work. This can be seen through the evolution of online/digital media and advertising. What will we contribute? What will our future employees contribute? Will we utilize what we learn in school? Will we create what will be taught in school? How will what we’re learning in class today change the future of tomorrow?
Today, there seems to be so many questions focused around digital media and the future. There are also so many questions that focus around students. How can the advertising industry show us what to expect for tomorrow? They can show us the number of people who are on facebook (400 million active users) and the number of tweets that are posted on twitter (17% of total users tweeted last month).
With the age of people who receive their first cell phone dropping every day and the number of people with computers grows, it’s clear to see that digital/online media is the way of the future. We’re seeing it through every media facet and the way that they’re advertising. We’ve discovered that we must rely on consumer feedback and interaction through these social outlets. We need to encourage ourselves to continue to seek education on up-in-coming trends and opportunities to grow brand names in the future. We need to keep up with other agencies and firms. We need to open our eyes and ears and make it a priority to stay current, not only for the sake of our future careers, but for the future of the advertising/online media industry.
